Scheme Weekly News for 2002-06-17
This is a round-up of news and announcements related to the Scheme programming language, mostly taken from newsgroups, mailing lists and web sites that I'm aware of. The aim is to publish in multiple formats on the web each week, but more on that later.
The WebIt! collection supports the creation and processing of XML, HTML, and CSS using Scheme. The core of WebIt! is RS-XML, an abstract datatype for XML. WebIt! requires PLT Scheme v200.
mod_scheme embeds a thread-safe Scheme interpreter into Apache 2. Work is continuing.
A new release of the Kawa JVM Scheme environment was uploaded on 12 June, taking another mighty step forwards in implementing SRFIs and more.
The PLT email lists have been unified on one Mailman host.
Tom Lord's systas fork of GNU Guile sprang back to life with a new release in mid-May.
There has been a new release for this extensible GPL/MPL Java-based Scheme environment on 12 June. It combines a number of bugfixes and overhauls error handling. It has now grown beyond a single floppy disk in size, though.
