This is a round-up of news and announcements related to the Scheme programming language, mostly taken from newsgroups, mailing lists and web sites that I'm aware of. Feel free to send me more. The aim is to publish in multiple formats on the web each week, but more on that very soon.
These Scheme Requests for Implementation drafts discuss External representation for data with shared structure; and parameter objects. Discussion lists for both are now open and your comments are invited.
GNU TeXmacs is a scientific document processor inspired by TeX and Emacs, built on Guile Scheme. This version includes several minor bugfixes and final changes in the menus.
Swindle is a collection of modules for PLT Scheme with many additional features, including a CLOS-like object system. This version is updated for the new PLT Scheme 203 release.
Bugloo is a debugger for the Scheme compiler Bigloo, aimed for developers using the JVM backend. It is written mostly in Java and uses JVMDI and JVMPI to debug Scheme programs, Java programs, or mixed ones.
PLT Scheme is a powerful Scheme implementation running on many platforms and includes a command-line interpreter, a graphical development environment and some advanced analysis tools. This release introduces a prototype test suite tool, improves the draw.ss, Help Desk and reintroduces the built-in browser.
