This is a round-up of news and announcements related to the Scheme programming language, mostly taken from newsgroups, mailing lists and web sites that I'm aware of. Feel free to send me more. The aim is to publish in multiple formats on the web each week, but more on that very soon.

ReadScheme Library expands

A large amount of paper details have been added to the ReadScheme library, including some postscript and PDF downloads.

GNU TeXmacs 1.0.1.11

GNU TeXmacs is a scientific document editor inspired by Emacs and TeX, but using Guile Scheme as its base. This release adds documentation in French and Spanish, improves bracket closing and starts to reorganise the C++ code.

Guile 1.6.4

Guile is Project GNU's extension language library, an interpreter for Scheme, packaged as a library. Bugfix release, including architecture and optimisation bugfixes, readline tweaks, syntax-rules and making eqv? and equal? primitive generic functions.

XML/Scheme presentation in Ottawa

A presentation on XML processing using Scheme "Towards Native Language for XML Data Processing" will be held at XML Users' Group of Ottawa on April 24.

Scheme UK Meeting

Scheme UK will meet on 7 May 2003 in London, England. Michael Bridgen will discuss how he built a web site for NMK and Johannes Flieger will present further material on linear logic. The meeting has changed location, along with lshift.

Sxmlcnv 0.0.4

Sxmlcnv converts from SXML into XML. This release adds contributed code and advice from Oleg. Any comments are welcome.

Foclasa 2002

The 2nd International Workshop on Foundations of Coordination Languages and Software Architectures has issued its first call for papers. It will take place on 2 September 2003 in Marseille, France.

Knights of the Lambda Calculus Meeting 7-10 Aug Berlin

The Discordian Section of the Grand Recursive Order of the Knights of the Lambda Calculus is pleased to announce its gathering at the Chaos Communcation Camp. They will bring Lisp machines and compiler hackers. You need to bring a tent.
